Armenian chess players are facing today Egyptians in the second round of the world championship in Turkey’s Antalya.

YEREVAN, November 27. / ARKA /. Armenian chess players are facing today Egyptians in the second round of the world championship in Turkey’s Antalya.
Armenian team leader Levon Aronian will miss this round. In the second round U.S. is playing versus Russia, Ukraine versus China, and Azerbaijan versus Netherlands and Germany versus Turkey.
In the first round Armenia played a draw 2:2 with the Russians. China, Germany, Ukraine and Azerbaijan which won round one games have each two points. The Americans, Egyptians, Turks and Dutch have no points.
Team world championships, involving 10 strongest teams, winners of chess olympiads and continental championships have been held since 1985. Armenia, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, Germany, USA, China, Egypt and Turkey will play a round robin tournament that will end on December 6. -0 -
