NSS chief announces his candidacy for post of FFA president
YEREVAN, September 4. /ARKA/. The head of Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) Artur Vanetsyan announced today his candidacy for the post of the president of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA).

Speaking to reporters,  he said time will show that neither the National Security Service nor the Football Federation will suffer. He added that his priorities include the development of mass and youth football. He said he made some studies and will present his plans on the day of the election of the president of the Federation, slated for September 22.

As for finance,  according to Vanetsyan, the Federation is a fairly self-sufficient organization. In case of effective use of available resources, it is possible to record serious achievements.

Ruben Hayrapetyan, the controversial current president of the Football Federation of Armenia, said back in 2015 he would resign if Armenia failed in the qualifying campaign for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Armenia failed but Hayrapetyan went backtracked on his promise.

According to the FFA charter valid until 2010, FFA president could hold this post for four terms, each four years long. However, in 2010 a new charter was adopted, which eliminated this restriction.  -0-
