The longest reverse ropeway in the world in Tatev (Armenia) moved to winter regime, press-service of Armenian National Competitiveness Fund informs.
YEREVAN, November 8. /ARKA/. The longest reverse ropeway in the world in Tatev (Armenia) moved to winter regime, press-service of Armenian National Competitiveness Fund informs.
The work of ropeway “Tatev Wings” was terminated for four days by the reason of moving to the winter regime. The ropeway restarted the operation on November 6. After moving to the winter regime, the ropeway is working impeccably and without any stops.
From November 8 commercial operation of the ropeway also restarted.
Official launch of the longest reverse ropeway in the world “Tatev Wings” took place on October 16, where hundreds of guests and top management of Armenia was present. It marked the start of large-scale project “Rehabilitation of Tatev” costing 45 million dollars implemented by the Armenian National Competitiveness Fund.
The length of the ropeway is 5.7 km and its highest peak is 330 meters. One-way direction from the village Halidzor to famous medieval Tatev Monastery takes 11 minutes.
On October 23, Tatev ropeway got the certificate of Guinness Record Book, thus officially obtaining the status of the longest reverse ropeway in the world. --0--
