YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. The number of tourist visits to Armenia in April 2026 increased by 39% compared to April last year, announced Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"In January-April of this year, a 34% increase in tourist visits was recorded compared to the same period in 2025," Pashinyan noted at a government meeting on Thursday.

The prime minister stated that he had asked several times whether this figure was accurate.

"Judging by the figures, Armenia is experiencing a tourism boom. This boom will continue and grow, and all the preconditions for this are in place. This is very good news," Pashinyan said.

Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, in turn, noted that the data is based on border crossings. "That is, they are very clear, because people cannot move around without this mechanism," Papoyan said.

According to the latest data released by the Tourism Committee of Armenia, 453,138 tourists visited the country in January-March 2026, an 18.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
