Armenian parliament ratifies agreement on air communication with Syria

YEREVAN, March 1. /ARKA/. The Armenian parliament on Wednesday ratified the agreement between the governments of Armenia and Syria on air communications. The agreement was backed by sixty-eight parliamentarians, while 22 MPs abstained.

Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan said the agreement is expected to enlarge the legal framework in the sphere of regular air communication between the countries, operation of regular flights and also stimulate bilateral economic ties.

"Implementation of regular flights between Armenia and Syria will facilitate visits by Syrian Armenians to their homeland, as well as mutual visits of interstate, parliamentary and other delegations," he said. -0-
