A total of 264,800 tons of cargo was transported by the railway in April, of it 181,600 tons were loaded, an increase of 2% compared to April the year before, according to the report.
The general director said import traffic tended to drop and the respective target was fulfilled only by 83%. Rebets instructed the involved staff to seek ways to increase the traffic and attract new clients for fulfilling the targets set by the company’s board of directors.
Railcar demurrage decreased by 0.9hours or 11.1% as compared to the last year. Demurrage per loading operation dropped by 19.2 hours or 85.6%, Rebets said.
According to the report, 41 wagons were repaired in the depot and another 39 wagons underwent maintenance in April.
A total of 1,362 trained traveled at the railway in the period, 1,351 of them according to the schedule.
Rebets instructed the company’s department heads to optimize expenditures, reduce operational costs and balance income-costs from the main activities to meet the May targets.
South Caucasus Railway cjsc is a 100% subsidiary of Russian Railways open joint stock company that is operating Armenian railways under a 30-year concession contract signed in 2008. The contract can be extended for another 10 years. –0--
