YEREVAN, May 6. /ARKA/. On April 19, ahead of International Earth Day, Ardshinbank employees participated in a tree planting initiative with the “My Forest Armenia” public environmental organization.
During the event, held in the Tsaghkunk community of the Gegharkunik region, approximately 300 trees were planted, marking another step in the ongoing partnership between the two organizations.
Led by seasoned experts from “My Forest Armenia,” the initiative highlighted the shared dedication of both organizations to environmental protection, biodiversity preservation, and the sustainable future of Armenia.
Commenting on the event, Ardshinbank emphasized its dedication to the principles of responsible banking and its firm commitment to environmental protection. "This initiative sets an example for our clients and partners, not only encouraging support for such initiatives but also reinforcing solidarity with those who share our vision for a healthier future for Armenia. The event in Gegharkunik is a clear reflection of our motto: 'We are strong together.'"
This tree planting event is part of a broader, long-term environmental program that Ardshinbank is implementing in collaboration with “My Forest Armenia.” As part of this initiative, Ardshinbank’s nominal forest was planted in October 2024 within the administrative boundaries of Lernajur in the Pambak community of the Lori region.
The forest planting project, covering more than 6 hectares, features exclusively local tree species, including oak, birch, wild pear, wild apple, maple, and yew. One of the key objectives of this environmental program is to expand Ardshinbank’s nominal forest, significantly contributing to the “green lungs” of the Lori region and helping absorb around 2,000 tons of harmful CO₂ emissions.
"My Forest Armenia" has already made significant strides in forest planting and reforestation, having planted over 2.3 million trees across 750 hectares in the Lori and Tavush regions over the past five years.
