Armenia bans import of cattle meat and skins from Germany due to foot-and-mouth disease threat

The Armenian government has temporarily banned the import of foot-and-mouth disease-susceptible cattle (small cattle, cattle, pigs), as well as frozen and chilled meat and meat by-products, unprocessed hides of cattle (including buffalo) from Germany.

YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has temporarily banned the import of foot-and-mouth disease-susceptible cattle (small cattle, cattle, pigs), as well as frozen and chilled meat and meat by-products, unprocessed hides of cattle (including buffalo) from Germany.
The corresponding order of the head of the Food Safety Inspectorate came into force on March 26, 2025.
The ban also applies to imports of the above-mentioned products of German origin from other countries, as well as those that are delivered in transit through Germany.
The Food Safety Inspectorate cited information published on the website of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) on foot-and-mouth disease cases in Germany.-0-
