YEREVAN, April 23. /ARKA/. Some provisions of the law on preferential payments were discussed on Monday at an additional session of Armenia’s SME Development Council, the government’s press office told ARKA News Agency.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that the government had received many proposals to amend the law for creating more favorable conditions for small and mid-scale businesses.
“I instructed the finance ministry and the state revenue committee to discuss the matter and propose us solutions which will create no administration problems for the state on one hand and will provide favorable environment to small and medium businesses,” he said.
Deputy Finance Minister Suren Karayan and First Deputy Chairman of Armenian State Revenue Committee Armen Alaverdyan presented amendments to the law.
The amendments give taxpayers an opportunity to make preferential payments once a month. They also propose to set lower-than-monthly preferential payment rates for periods up to three, six, nine and twelve months.
Besides, entities registered on the same address will be allowed to carry passengers in cars on one license, and individual entrepreneurs having own cars will be permitted for undergoing technical inspection for a fitness warrant only once a year instead of twice currently.
The premier, summarizing results of the discussion, said that the proposed changes would considerably simplify SME’s activities.
The council approved the approaches voiced at the session and gave appropriate instructions to the finance ministry and the state revenue committee.-0---
