YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/ Butter prices in Armenia fell by 200-250 drams per kilogram, the chairman of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCEC) Gegham Gevorgyan, said at a press conference today.
He said the price of New Zealand butter, which is dominating the local market, in October 2018 was slightly higher than 4600 drams per kilogram, falling to 4,300 drams in October 2019.
Grigoryan said a law is needed to set the difference between the spread, margarine and butter.
“Based on the findings of our studies, we can confidently say that we did not find a single case when a different product was sold instead of butter,” he said.
He said the SCPEC will have to work hard in 2020 to have the butter sold by all trade outlets with as little as possible price margins . ($1- 479.27 dram) .- 0-
