Regulator extends license of Gazprom Armenia

Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) has extended today the license of Gazprom Armenia company for distribution and transportation of natural gas across the country.

YEREVAN, September 23. / ARKA /. Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) has extended today the license of Gazprom Armenia company for distribution and transportation of natural gas across the country.
Seda Shahinyan, head of a PSRC’s department in charge of legal and licensing issues, said Gazprom Armenia had asked the regulator on August 26 to extend the license for two years.
The PSRC has also extended the license of Transgaz company, a subsidiary of Gazprom Armenia, for two years. Transgaz deals with transportation of natural gas. The regulator has extended also the license of Gazprom Armenia for electricity exports to Georgia until October 1, 2016.
Gazprom Armenia is a 100% subsidiary of Russian Gazprom. It is the only company in Armenia engaged in transportation and distribution of Russian natural gas supplied via Georgia.
The company deals also with storage and sale of natural gas, reconstruction and expansion of gas transportation systems and underground gas storage facility. -0-
