YEREVAN, February 1. /ARKA/. Armenia's Health Ministry said today that 7 laboratories have already been included in the Travel without COVID-19 app, officially launched on February 1, after Russia has lifted a coronavirus-related entry ban for Armenian nationals for one month.

Armenian citizens are allowed to enter Russia by air from February 1 to March 1 if they test negative for COVID-19. The Health Ministry specified that travelers have to download and use a special mobile phone application called Travel without Covid-19 that certifies that a passenger has tested negative at least 72 hours before departure from Armenia.

The 7 laboratories that provide paid services are in located in the medical centers Cyto, Normed, Astghik, BIOMED, PROM-TEST, ECOSENS, Davidyants and GISANE. The ministry said new labs will be included in the list.

The list of new labs and related information will be available on the Travel without COVID-19 free app and on the Ministry of Health website. The ministry recalled that before leaving for Russia, the citizen must download the electronic application and with their passports apply to any of the labs included in the list for PCR testing, provide the necessary data, which the lab enters into the app.

The laboratory provides the citizen with a system-generated agreement with a two-dimensional secure barcode (QR code). The citizen signs an agreement, downloads the mobile application, scans the QR code contained in the agreement and takes a Covid-19 test.

The laboratory enters the test results into the system, which are displayed in the application uploaded by the citizen:; if the answer is positive, the QR code turns red, and if it is negative, it turns green.

Before leaving, the person must make sure that the information about the test results is available in the mobile application, and the date corresponds to the departure time, ie. no more than 72 hours before departure. When crossing the border, the QR code of the mobile application is presented.

Today, about 20 Armenian citizens were unable to fly to Moscow and Rostov with Armenia Airlines flights due to an incorrect coronavirus tests. Passengers have been tested in laboratories that are not included in the list.

Deputy Director of Armenia Airline Gevorg Khachatryan stated that an exception was made for these passengers: the airline will replace their tickets free of charge, providing free seats for the next flights.

The airline said the demand for the Russian route is quite high, and there was no artificial increase in ticket prices by the company.

“Despite the fact that the demand is quite high, this is not the reason for the increase in ticket prices. Low-class tickets with lower cost are bought instantly, literally in a few hours. Consequently, only high-class and business-class tickets remain, the cost of which is always high, regardless of whether demand is high or low," the airline said.

It said economy class tickets for flights until February 19 have all been sold out: only business class tickets of high cost (from 212 thousand drams / about $407) are available. -0-
