YEREVAN, December 12. /ARKA/. Armenia's leading freight and agribusiness company Spayka LLC and a number of affiliated companies have recovered 8.5 billion drams to the state budget, the State Revenue Committee (SRC) said today.

According to SRC, a probe into the company's activities revealed  that the company's CEO David Ghazaryan had imported various food products (cheese, pears, Beijing cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers) to Armenia from different countries, including Poland,  Belgium and  Greece in 2015-2018, but had presented false documents to the customs bodies of  Armenia, according to which Spayka and the affiliate Green Product imported ammonium nitrate. As a result, the company avoided paying higher taxes.

The final amount of unpaid tax liabilities was calculated and clarified and the CEO of Spayka was charged. During the preliminary investigation the defendant pleaded guilty and expressed his willingness to assist the investigation and pay the amount of taxes avoided. ($1 - 395.3 AMD).
