South Caucasus Railway raised efficiency of its locomotives and railcars significantly, says the company’s report.

YEREVAN, April 19. /ARKA/. South Caucasus Railway raised efficiency of its locomotives and railcars significantly, says the company’s report.
Railcar turnaround time has been reduced by 35.7% to an average of 2.8 days, according to the report.
Average car tonnage reached 5,356 net ton-km / wagon in Q1, an increase of 34.5% compared to the same period of 2012.
Average locomotive mileage was 370.6 loc-km, a 7.8% increase against January-March last year.
The company made these achievements due to improvements in railway infrastructure and traction-rolling stock, according to the report.
South Caucasus Railway cjsc is a 100% subsidiary of Russian Railways open joint stock company that is operating Armenian railways under a 30-year concession contract signed in 2008. The contract can be extended for another 10 years. -0-
