Yerevan hosts first annual conference on development of debt collection industry
YEREVAN, October 14, /ARKA/. The first annual conference on the development of professional debt collection industry in Armenia took place in Yerevan on September 22.
The event, organized by DEBT HOLDING, an international network of professional collection agencies, brought together more than 30 companies from the banking and micro crediting sectors. The partners and co-organizers of the event were associations of banking and microfinance industry.
The key speakers were representatives of companies from four countries: Armenia, Russia, Singapore and Kenya.
The participants discussed prospects for development of the debt collection market, ways and forms of interaction between creditors and debtors.
CEO of DEBT HOLDING Nikolay Melnikov spoke about the methods and the software used by the holding and the alternative methods of increasing debt collection portfolios.
‘We hope to be useful to Armenian businesses. The trends in the international field of debt collection are changing and now companies are no longer bound only to their own in-house or one contractor. Debt portfolios are being passed from one company to another and the assessment of work is the efficiency of the collection size; the main key performance indicator are the figures on scoreboard," said Mr. Melnikov.
"What makes us distinguish from other companies, which offer debt collection services, is the international background - we work in five countries worldwide. Moreover, I have authored two books on debt collection, a full automation of all collection processes and have some know-how in terms of developing relations with debtors and receiving debts using both the carrot and stick," sais Mr. Melnikov.
The company offers several products in the market: the first is the classic debt collection, the second is collection with the provision of financial guarantee for the result, and the third is debt portfolio cession.
