New covering of landing strip of Yerevan airport “Zvartnots” will allow to accept planes “Boeing 747” without limitations, said Ashot Mirzoyan, Technical Director of airport “Zvartnots”.

YEREVAN, June 8. /ARKA/. New covering of landing strip of Yerevan airport “Zvartnots” will allow to accept planes “Boeing 747” without limitations, said Ashot Mirzoyan, Technical Director of airport “Zvartnots”.

“80% of works of renewed covering of 1700 m at length and 30 m at width will be finalized soon. Total cost of repair works is about $3 million”, he said.

At present substitution works of steering track of the airport is conducted. New asphalt concrete covering of thickness of 7-8 cm will allow to increase technical characteristics of covering and reliability of airport operation.

All the works are conducted in accordance with the requirements of International Сivil Аviation Organization (IСАО).

International airport “Zvartnots” is under the management of CJSC “Armenia - International Airports”. The owner of the company is Argentinean Company “American International Airports”, which belongs to the citizen of Argentine of Armenian origin Eduardo Eurnekian. --0--
