YEREVAN, May 27. /ARKA/. At a meeting on Wednesday, the Armenian government approved the procedure for creating and implementing the data exchange procedure for the state information system.
"It is proposed that data exchange between government agencies' information repositories be carried out using the X-Road open-source platform, which is successfully used in Estonia and Finland and is considered a leading model," stated Gevorg Meliksetyan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia.
According to him, before the implementation of this architecture, data transfer between government repositories was carried out using various models, such as "closed architecture," "open architecture," API, and others.
"Using X-Road will provide a number of advantages: duplication of government data will be eliminated, and data security, confidentiality, and transparency will be enhanced. Currently, 35 agencies are involved in the integration phase, 20 of which are state-owned and 13 are private companies. For government agencies, integration into the system will be mandatory until July 1, 2027, while others will have the option to do so at their own discretion," Meliksetyan noted.
