YEREVAN, April 29. /ARKA/. The Ministry of Health is currently not considering increasing insurance premiums for the universal health insurance system, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan stated at a press conference.
"It's difficult to talk about 2027 at this time. The scope of state subsidies will be discussed during budget discussions," the minister noted.
Avanesyan emphasized that the state currently assumes the primary burden of funding insurance payments for certain categories of citizens. Specifically, premiums are fully subsidized for individuals under 18, citizens over 65, as well as individuals with disabilities and socially vulnerable groups.
According to her, the state pays 129,600 drams annually for each member of these categories. For other citizens, a partial support mechanism is provided: the state subsidizes 6,000 drams monthly.
The Minister also stated that the continuation of the current subsidy system is already enshrined in the medium-term program, but the funding parameters may be revised in the future.
"Currently, we have no initiative to revise insurance premiums," the Minister of Health emphasized.
