YEREVAN, September 13. /ARКА/. Armenia hopes that the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Singapore will sign a free trade agreement during an EEU summit that will take place in Armenia on October 1, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anna Naghdalyan told reporters on Friday.

According to her, all EEU member countries are taking all the steps to complete the process of ratification of the document before the summit.

"We want the procedures to be completed in a timely manner so that it is possible to sign the document during the summit in Armenia," Naghdalyan said.

She refrained from saying whether the leaders of Russia, Singapore and Iran will arrive in Armenia to participate in the gathering, saying much has been said and commented on this.

"For us, this is an EEU event, which we regard as an important one, and its best conduct is one of the priorities of Armenia, which holds the current chairmanship of the organization," Naghdalyan said.

The EEU is an international integration economic association, comprising Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. It was formed on January 1, 2015. --0--
