Armenia’s state debt down by $11.3 million

Armenia’s aggregate state debt at the end of September 2017 stood at $6.296.6 billion, having decreased by 0.18% or $11.3 million from the previous month, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said.

YEREVAN, November 30. /ARKA/. Armenia’s aggregate state debt at the end of September 2017 stood at $6.296.6 billion, having decreased by 0.18% or $11.3 million from the previous month, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said.

It said the government’s external debt at the end of October 2017 was worth $5.053 billion, down by $14.8 million from late September. Of that amount about $4.445.3 billion were owed by the government, a decline of $11.1 million from the previous month, and $607.6 million were owed by the Central Bank, a decline of $3.6 million.

Armenia's domestic debt at the end of October amounted to $1.243.6 billion, an increase of $3.5 million. Of that amount about $1.105.5 billion were owed to resident holders of government bonds and $129.1 million were owed to resident holders of USD-denominated government bonds.

The government also owed $9 million in guarantees. The government expects the national debt to stand at $6.245 billion at the end of this year. -0-
