The total cost of the Dilijan International School (DIS) is $150 million, of which $20 million have already been invested, according to project founder and co-head of Sberbank CIB Ruben Vardanyan.
YEREVAN, June 6. / ARKA /. The total cost of the Dilijan International School (DIS) is $150 million, of which $20 million have already been invested, according to project founder and co-head of Sberbank CIB Ruben Vardanyan.
"I think the DIS will be a significant project not only for Armenia but also for the entire region, as children from all over the world can study here, who after studying will be able to enter the world's leading universities,” he told reporters on Thursday.
Vardanyan said the first phase of the project will cost $70 million, and when it is over in July 2014, the first students will be accepted from September. He said that under the second phase, which will cost $50 million, a sports complex and a large dining room will be built by 2017. The third phase is planned to complete by 2020. By that time the DIS will have a natural park along the river Aghstev. Vardanyan stressed that this project is unique in Armenia, given its scale and widely used “green technology.”
Dilijan International School is a private charity project. Annual tuition fee is $30,000. There will be a charitable scholarship fund in the amount of $100 million that will pay for the education of talented children from Armenia and other countries. The school is designed for 650 students and 60 teachers.-0-
