Freedom Holding co-founder names three most promising areas for investment in Armenia

YEREVAN, August 14. /ARKA/. Igor Klyushnev, co-founder of Freedom Holding and supervising manager for Armenia, named three most promising sectors for investments in Armenia.

'First of all, we should single out the IT sector, which has been actively supported by the government since 2015 and has traditionally strong ties with Silicon Valley,' he said in an interview with Arka news agency.

He said many large ICT companies are relocating to Armenia and this trend will continue - large international technological companies, which worked in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, have moved their staff to Armenia.

He also singled out the tourism sector saying Armenia is a country with the oldest monuments of world architecture, and the infrastructure has potential for growth.

He cited IMF estimates, according to which the volume of Armenia’s tourism industry by 2030 may reach the level of $5 billion, although in 2018 it was at the level of $1.5 billion.

'I would also single out agriculture. Here, infrastructural development - building a network of roads and storage facilities - will also help Armenia to participate more actively in international trade,' Klyushnev said.-0-
