Gas tariffs for Armenian residents will remain unchanged – PSRC
YEREVAN, July 1. /ARKA/. Natural gas tariffs for residents of Armenia will remain unchanged, the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia announced.

The corresponding decision was made at a PSRC meeting on Wednesday and will come into effect on August 1, 2026.

As the commission noted, as part of the tariff review process initiated at the PSRC's initiative, tariffs for natural gas transportation, distribution, and gas supply system operator Gazprom-Armenia CJSC were revised, taking into account all positive and negative factors affecting tariffs.

The agency emphasized that these changes will not affect payments by the population.

Earlier, some Armenian media reported that the energy holding company Gazprom had allegedly approached the Armenian government regarding a price change for Russian gas supplied to the republic.

On Gas Prices

On April 1, in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin told Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that Russian gas is cheaper for Armenia than the same fuel in Europe. He stated that gas prices in Europe are currently "off the charts at over $600 per thousand cubic meters, while Russia sells gas to Armenia for $177.5 per thousand cubic meters."

On April 9, commenting on the possible increase in the price of Russian natural gas for Armenia, Pashinyan stated that Armenia and Russia have long-term contracts that will not be violated.

On the Gas Transportation Company

Gazprom-Armenia CJSC is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Russian holding company Gazprom and the monopoly supplier of natural gas from Russia to Armenia for domestic consumption. Gas supplies are transited through Georgia; the price of Russian gas at the border is $165 per thousand cubic meters.

In Armenia, the company also carries out transportation, storage, distribution and sale of gas, as well as reconstruction and expansion of the gas transmission system and underground gas storage facilities.
