Government closes Dilijan training center
YEREVAN, November 10, /ARKA/.  An expensive facility built in Armenia’s resort town of Dilijan as a training center for tax and customs officials will be handed to a government department overseeing state-owned property, the recently appointed head of the State Revenue Committee Vardan Harutyunyan told a Cabinet session today.

A relating  government decision says the decision is made because the State Revenue Committee believes its operation is inappropriate.

"The center is handed to the State Property Management Department on condition that it will be handed to another entity", - the decision says.

Earlier, finance minister Vardan Aramyan said  the Armenian government would  close the training center for the purpose of a more efficient use of public funds.

According to media stories, the  Dilijan center located inside a picturesque forest has four lecture rooms and auditoriums occupying only a small part of it. However, there are swimming pools with mosaic tiles, whirlpool bathtubs, gyms, saunas, bars, restaurants, tennis courts and a cinema hall equipped with expensive projection and sound systems. -0-
