YEREVAN, August 5. /ARKA/. In Armenia, inflation in July 2026, compared to July 2025, was 4.5%, while deflation was 1.4% compared to June of this year. This is according to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
In July 2026, compared to July 2025, prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 7.4%, while compared to June, they decreased by 3.8%.
Prices for alcoholic and tobacco products increased by 7.5% year-on-year, and by 0.5% month-on-month.
Prices for clothing and footwear in July increased by 3.9% compared to July of the previous year, remaining unchanged month-on-month. The cost of housing and utilities, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels increased by 0.9% year-on-year, while remaining unchanged month-on-month. Prices for household goods, appliances, and home maintenance services increased by 2.7% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month.
In healthcare, price growth was 3.3% year-on-year, with no monthly change. In transportation, prices decreased by 1.2% compared to July last year, but increased by 0.1% compared to June. In communications, growth was 1.1% year-on-year, with no monthly change. In recreation and culture, prices increased by 0.1% year-on-year, while decreasing by 0.5% month-on-month.
In education, prices increased by 8.3% compared to July 2025, with no monthly change. In the restaurant and hotel sectors, growth was 4.9% year-on-year and 1% month-on-month. Prices for various goods and services increased by 3.3% year-on-year and 0.6% compared to June.
Meanwhile, in the non-food market, prices increased by 2.5% in July 2026 compared to July 2025, and by 0.2% compared to June. Tariffs for services increased by 1.8% year-on-year and 0.1% month-on-month.
Armenia's 2026 state budget projects economic growth at 5.4%. According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the first quarter of this year, by the end of 2026, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to be 7.1-4.7%, depending on scenario (A-B), 5.7-5.3% in 2027, and 4.9-5.2% in 2028.
