In January-March 2026, Armenia generated 2,817.6 million kWh of electricity, a 7.3% increase compared to January-March 2025.
YEREVAN, May 13. /ARKA/. In January-March 2026, Armenia generated 2,817.6 million kWh of electricity, a 7.3% increase compared to January-March 2025. This is according to data published by the Statistical Committee.
The largest share of electricity generated—44.1%—came from thermal power plants: the volume generated amounted to 1,244.0 million kWh, an increase of 45.1%. The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) accounted for 33.3% of the electricity output (936.9 million kWh, a 1.4% decline), while hydroelectric power plants accounted for 12.0% (337.9 million kWh, a 34.3% decline).
Solar power plants followed with a 10.6% share and a 1.4% decline, generating 298.4 million kWh. Wind power plants generated 0.4 million kWh of electricity, a 2.5-fold increase, accounting for 0.02%.
Electricity production figures also include electricity generated by autonomous power producers through power flows.
