YEREVAN, January 20. /ARKA/. The opening of the border with Turkey will have a positive impact on Armenia's economy, stated Narek Karapetyan, Vice President of Tashir Group and coordinator of the "Our Way" movement.

"For example, heavy-duty trucks can deliver goods to Europe very quickly. But we must be careful not to become 100% economically dependent on Turkey. This will harm our agriculture. It is also important not to succumb to the cultural narratives promoted by some circles in Turkey," Karapetyan said.

He expressed hope that changes will occur in Turkey and that Armenian-Turkish relations will improve.

"If we are to live together, and there is no alternative, then we must have good relations and understand that we are dividing a region and must take each other's interests into account," Karapetyan said.

Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and Special Representative of the Republic of Armenia for the Armenian-Turkish Peace Process, Ruben Rubinyan, refrained from making any predictions regarding the opening date of the Armenian-Turkish border. "The Turkish side is carrying out restoration work at the Alijan checkpoint (on the border with Armenia). On our side, the Margara checkpoint is operational," he said.-0-
