YEREVAN, June 24. /ARKA/. Armenian products meet high international standards and have the potential to expand their presence in the European Union market. This was stated by RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan at a meeting with ambassadors and chargés d'affaires of the EU and EU member states' diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia.
According to the Ministry of Economy's press service, the parties discussed ways to strengthen Armenia's economic resilience and economic development. The meeting participants emphasized the importance of expanding export opportunities for Armenian products and facilitating trade.
According to Papoyan, Armenian goods are comparable in quality to those available on the European market and meet the highest standards, holding GLOBALG.A.P. certificates and other necessary documents.
"We have made significant progress in improving the business environment and raising quality standards. "Today, many Armenian companies are ready not only to increase exports but also to build long-term partnerships with European buyers," the minister noted, according to a press release.
The implementation of export support programs to the European Union and other countries, as well as existing state support instruments, were also discussed.
Following the meeting, the minister answered questions from diplomatic representatives and presented state policy and priorities in economic development.
On support for exporters
Against the backdrop of Russian trade restrictions, Armenia has expanded its support measures for exporters, particularly to EU countries. For example, the government is compensating transportation costs and customs duties on the supply of fruits, vegetables, and flowers to the EU, the UK, and Canada, and is also providing subsidies for a range of export goods.
