YEREVAN, June 26. /ARKA/. Russia has expanded restrictions on fish product shipments from Armenia, temporarily suspending certification of products from two more Armenian companies until they resolve previously identified violations, Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) told TASS.
Thus, all fish product shipments from Armenia have been suspended.
The agency recalled that, following systemic violations, Rosselkhoznadzor had previously requested the Armenian side to temporarily suspend certification of all fish products, with the exception of companies directly involved in the inspection – MF Export LLC and Invest Plus LLC. A strict laboratory monitoring regime was introduced for them.
"Subsequently, a preliminary report was prepared during the analysis of the materials, and until the identified violations are resolved and the necessary supporting materials are provided, a decision was made to temporarily suspend product certification for these companies," Rosselkhoznadzor reported. They emphasized that the agency is working with the Armenian side to ensure the safety of fish and fish products destined for the Russian market.
Restrictions on products from Armenia to Russia
Effective June 12, 2026, Russia has restricted the import of all quarantine products originating and shipped from Armenia, as well as their transit through Russia to EAEU member states. Rosselkhoznadzor's restrictions specifically target Jermuk mineral water, alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits, and herbs.
The agency cited the "systematic detection of quarantine organisms" in plant products and flowers from Armenia as the reason. It is noted that the ban will remain in effect until a specific algorithm for ensuring the safety and traceability of shipped goods is developed.
Regarding support for exporters in Armenia
Amid Russian trade restrictions, Armenia has expanded its support measures for exporters, particularly to EU countries. Thus, the government compensates for transport costs and customs duties on the supply of fruits, vegetables and flowers to the EU, the UK and Canada, and also provides subsidies for a number of export goods.
