YEREVAN, February 10. /ARКА/. US Vice President J.D. Vance has announced plans for a significant influx of investments into Armenia.

"Thanks to several agreements signed between US President Donald Trump and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, investments will be directed towards Armenia... This will also lead to the creation of numerous jobs," Vance informed Armenian journalists at Zvartnots International Airport on Tuesday, prior to his departure to Baku.

Among the notable projects, the US Vice President highlighted the establishment of an AI data center in collaboration with NVIDIA Corporation. He mentioned that the project is already underway, with potential investments reaching up to $4 billion.

Vance further emphasized that fostering economic cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan is crucial for achieving lasting peace between the two nations. "One of the primary objectives of my visit to both countries is to encourage this type of collaboration," he stated.

A US delegation, led by Vice President Vance, conducted a two-day visit to Armenia on February 9-10. After his time in Yerevan, the US Vice President traveled to Baku. The US State Department had previously indicated that the aim of the regional visit was to support the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and to advance the TRIPP (Trump Route for Regional Peace and Prosperity) initiative.

According to Armstat, Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the US in 2025 was recorded at $348.4 million, reflecting a 12.2% decrease compared to 2024. Armenian exports to the US amounted to $53.1 million (a 9.9% drop), while imports (by country of origin) reached nearly $295.3 billion (a 16% decline).

On February 9, after discussions between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the US Vice President, an agreement was reached to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and high-tech fields, and to maintain dialogue on regional stability and enduring peace.

The parties specifically signed a joint document concluding their negotiations.

The parties, in particular, signed a joint document concluding negotiations on an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The document forms the legal basis for further cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, specifically licensing and the potential involvement of US technology and equipment. The agreement provides for exports worth up to $5 billion at the initial stage and an additional $4 billion for fuel and maintenance.

Furthermore, a memorandum on developing cooperation between Armenia and the United States in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles was signed, aimed at collaboration in technology, training specialists, and expanding the potential of civilian and dual-use UAVs.-0-
