Armenian company caught recovering, storing chicken meat after official disposal

YEREVAN, August 9. /ARKA/. The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia reported the discovery of unusable and improperly disposed goods on Friday.

The SRC reported that its officials recently participated in the destruction of 13.5 tons of chicken meat belonging to the Brothers Armen-Amik company. The procedure was carried out in the village of Kotayk  in the Kotayk region, based on a relevant assessment issued by the Food Safety Inspection Body.

The destroyed goods were disposed of through burial.

However, after the burial of the unfit products, an SRC monitoring operation revealed that several employees of the food company had returned to the burial site, unearthed the chicken meat using special equipment, and transported it back to the company's premises.

Upon further investigation, SRC officials discovered the excavated goods stored in a refrigerated warehouse on the property of Brothers Armen-Amik, with soil remnants still visible on the packaging.

The SRC has documented the findings, collected samples, and forwarded a report to Armenia's Investigative Committee for further action.
