The fire at Grand Candy factory in Yerevan has been extinguished, Novosti-Armenia reported referring to the press secretary of Grand Holding Vahram Brutyan.

YEREVAN, September 25. /ARKA/. The fire at Grand Candy factory in Yerevan has been extinguished, Novosti-Armenia reported referring to the press secretary of Grand Holding Vahram Brutyan.

The fire broke out at 6:30 Wednesday morning in a warehouse of the corrugated packaging workshop and later spread to the workshop, Brutyan said.

The fire has been extinguished by ministry of emergencies firefighters promptly, the press secretary said.

A total of 12 squads were on the scene to put out the fire.

According to the preliminary information, the fire was caused by a short-circuit fault in the electric wiring, Brutyan said.

No people killed and injured in the fire, and the damage is small, the press secretary said adding that exact amount of the damage remains to be clarified.

Brutyan also said the detailed information will be provided by the press office later.

Grand Candy was founded in 2000 and shortly afterwards it became the leading Armenian confectionary company producing 300 verities of sweeties, candies, ice-cream, tarts, chocolates and so. It is the only company in the South Caucasus which processes cocoa beans.  -0-
