Armenia’s Ministry of Justice to remain outside next year

The RA Ministry of Justice will be deprived of its office building next year.
YEREVAN, October 27. /ARKA/. The RA Ministry of Justice will be deprived of its office building next year.
Speaking at a joint discussion of the 2009 draft budget by the parliamentary commissions, RA Minister of Justice Gevorg Danielyan stated that Armenia’s 2009 draft budget does not provide for any funds for the purchase of renovation of the building.

A fire that broke out at the office building on February 9 almost destroyed it. At present, some of the departments of the RA Ministry of Justice occupy premises at the RA Service for Enforcement of Judicial Acts, others are leasing premises.

“I think the problem will soon be resolved. In particular, a building in the Shengavit neighborhood is being renovated for the departments currently leasing premises,” Danielyan said.

Chairman of the Commission for State and Legal Affairs, RA Parliament, David Harutyunyan pointed out that no ministry can properly function if it finds itself it a similar situation.

He proposed discussing the problem and finding a solution to the RA Ministry of Finance.

Minister Danielyan reported that a total of 522mln AMD are budgeted for the Ministry of Justice for next year – 47mln as much as this year. A total of 65.8mln AMD are intended for salaries.

“In contrast to other ministries, the Ministry of Justice does not plan staff reduction, as inspections showed we have no unnecessary staffers,” Danielyan said. –0--
