Baghdasaryan: recall of two ministers by Orinats Yerkir prompted by party reformation
YEREVAN, March 17. /ARKA/. Orinats Yerkir, one of three ruling coalition parties, has recalled its two ministers because of the party reformation, Arthur Baghdasaryan, the party leader and Armenian national security secretary, said Tuesday at a press conference.
“The party launched substantial reformation, and we want the party’s affair to be run by experienced people,” he said.
Orinats Yerkir’s two ministers – Transport and Communication Minister Gurgen Sargsyan and Emergency Minister Mher Shahgeldyan – resigned on Monday.
On the same day, the president relieved them fro their duties and appointed Manuk Vardanyan as transport and communication minister and Armen Yeritsyan as emergency minister.
Baghdasaryan said that Mher Shahgeldyan, who left its ministerial seat on Monday, is deputy chairman of the party, and he will engage in political and ideological issues, and former transport and communication minister, Gurgen Sargsyan, will coordinate Orinats Yerkir’s economic unit.
In his words, the party has plenty to do.
Novosti-Armenia News Agency quoted Baghdasaryan as saying that his party has serious economic programs that need to be presented to the government and the community.
Baghdasaryan stressed that recall of ministers for improvement of a party’s activity is a normal process and pointed out Dashnaktsutyun party saying that it has repeatedly resorted to this step while ruling the country along its fellow coalition member parties.
He also said that Orinats Yerkir had no intention to recall Gerasim Alaverdyan, its third, agriculture minister.
Baghdasaryan said this minister enjoys the party’s full support.
He denied rumors that the resignations were imposed on the ministers by the president and said knew newly appointed ministers – Manuk Vardanyan and Armen Yeritsyan.
Baghdasaryan is convinced they will handle their new duties excellently and will be devoted members of Orinats Yerkir.--0---
