YEREVAN, August 20. / ARKA /. President Serzh Sargsyan considers Armenian-Russian cooperation as an important element in ensuring security in the Caucasus.

"Armenian-Russian cooperation is an essential element in ensuring security and stability in the Caucasus region. Evidence of this is the important issues that we are going to discuss," said the head of the Armenian state, on the eve, during the dinner in the honor of President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and Svetlana Medvedeva, the press service of the President of Armenia reported.

Medvedev arrived in Armenia on a state visit yesterday in the vening.

Armenia's President called the visit memorable.

According to him the essence of the term "state visit" symbolizes the highest level of relations that can exist between the two states.

"This visit is the best opportunity to consider the dynamics of our relationship, summarizing some of the results and noting the new goals allied in the cooperation," said the president of Armenia.

According to him, the Armenian side is proud of the long and strong ties between the two peoples, spotty and successful cooperation between the two states.

Sargsyan also spoke of the characteristics of the Armenian-Russian cooperation in terms of historical friendship, reliability, great heritage, and commitment to values.

"From the first minutes of the state visit of Russian President, I once again felt the mutual confidence that we can move forward. We can and will vigorously implement the joint programs," said the president of Armenia. -0 -
