YEREVAN, September 21. / ARKA /. Today Armenia is an established state, despite the existing problems, evidenced by today's military parade, president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said speaking at a military parade marking the 20th anniversary of the country’s independence.
"The most precious thing we have is the independence generation, the citizens of a free country, who do not see them in a different status. The generation that has much to give to their country and people, but have their own concerns and needs, which is a major impetus for progress," he said.
"Twenty years ago our dream to restore Armenia’s independence came true but first and foremost it was the responsibility for our security, economy, for our present and future. Long live the Armenian people, who went through the sword and the fire thanks to their strong faith and unity," said Sargsyan.
"Long live free Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) that opened a new page in our history by the blood of its sons. Long live the victorious Armenian army, which is an indispensable component of peace and stability in the region. Long live Armenian builders who raised the country after the earthquake. Long live Armenian Diaspora, which was always close to home, and now is becoming its continuation," said the president. -0-
