The Legal Initiative: presidential election-2008 received a number of reports on violations in the presidential election in Armenia.

YEREVAN, February 20. /ARKA/. The Legal Initiative: presidential election-2008 received a number of reports on violations in the presidential election in Armenia.

At 2:30 p.m. on February 19, the organization received a signal about briberies and transportation of voters for them to cast their votes for Serge Sargsyan.

At one of the polling stations, in the village of Nizami, Massis region, the chairman of the election commission did not allow one of the proxies for the presidential candidate Levon Ter-Petrosyan to get examine the protocol of the election commission.

The list of patients at the Sevan hospital included 40 more names.

The Legal Initiative: presidential election-2008 also reported that a fight occurred at one of the polling stations. At another polling station, a voter saw strange names under his address in the voters’ list. Carousel was applied at one of the polling stations. At polling station 13/11 in the Erebuni community open ballot, and ballot-box stuffing took place.

The Legal Initiative was founded in December 2006 to render legal assistance to Armenian voters. It first worked in the parliamentary elections on May 12, 2007. At present the Legal Initiative: presidential election-2008 unites 52 NGOs from all Armenian regions. –0--
