Armenian government to sign agreement on cooperation with UNESCO

Armenia’s Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian, UN Resident Representative in Armenia Consuelo Vidal and the Director of Moscow Office of UNESCO Dendeev Badarc are to sign a document on cooperation of Armenian Government with UNESCO in Yerevan on May 20.
YEREVAN, March 19. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian, UN Resident Representative in Armenia Consuelo Vidal and the Director of Moscow Office of UNESCO Dendeev Badarc are to sign a document on cooperation of Armenian Government with UNESCO in Yerevan on May 20.
The document will open up new prospects for more well-ordered activities of UNESCO in Armenia in the fields of education, science, culture and telecommunications, the Press Service of Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
The document is an addition to the system of support to UNO development in Armenia (2005-2008) aimed at setting up a joint system for all UNO agencies in the country.
Under the document, UNESCO activities are to focus on the programs “Education for Everyone”, “UNO Decade of Education for Sustainable Development”, as well as on the results of World Summit international development objectives, including millennium development objectives within UNESCO mandate. –0--
