YEREVAN, October 3. /ARKA/. Azerbaijan continues mass purchases of arms and military equipment, making new threats and demands against Armenia, Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of “I have Honor” opposition bloc in Armenian parliament.

The situation, he said, is quite alarming.

“Unlike the period preceding the 44-day war in Karabakh, information about Azerbaijan's large-scale purchases in terms of types and models of weapons is now largely confidential. This makes the situation even more unpredictable. Especially if we take into account that Azerbaijan periodically declares about keeping the military scenario on its agenda,” Abrahamyan said during the press briefing in the National Assembly.

According to the MP, Baku not only fails to fulfill its obligations, but also makes new threats and demands to Yerevan. These include demands for Armenia's “demilitarization”, which is being actively promoted and gradually consolidated in Baku's agenda.

“The narrative about the so-called “return” of Azerbaijanis to Armenia is also getting a certain institutionalization. 'It seems that Baku, through permanent pressure, will try to impose this narrative on official Yerevan,” the opposition MP noted. -0-
