YEREVAN, February 6. /ARKA/. Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan has appointed general-major Armen Kaghramanyan as head of V. Sargsyan Military Institute, the presidential press office reported.
The post was vacant after the former head of the institute lieutenant-general Martin Karapetyan was relieved of his duties under a presidential decree on February 2, following the reports about serviceman Haykaz Barseghyan found hanged in a military education unit in Yerevan.
Earlier, the minister of defense Seyran Ohanyan said vicious manners and officers’ negligence led to the crime. At a government meeting on Thursday, the minister said about 30 officers will be sacked from the institute after the investigation. –0--
