YEREVAN, May 16. /ARKA/. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan met on Friday with the head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vasilis Maragos to review the needs of refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh.

In this context, Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the support provided by the EU in the process of solving their humanitarian needs, the government press service reported.

Discussing the necessary steps in terms of solving the refugees' long-term needs, the sides stressed the close cooperation with international partners and NGOs, in particular, in order to elaborate and implement efficient mechanisms of sustainable development and employment programs.

In this context, the current framework of bilateral cooperation and possibilities for its expansion were discussed in detail.

On September 19-20, 2023, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh using artillery, UAVs and combat aviation. On September 28, after negotiations with the Azerbaijani side, Karabakh President Samvel Shahramanyan issued a decree that all state institutions would be dissolved as of January 1. From that time, the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) ceased to exist. The residents were forced to leave their homeland and resettle in Armenia.-0-
