YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. Armenia expects to sign an agreed Action Plan with the European Union in the near future, said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during the parliamentary discussion of the 2026 budget.

"I am optimistic that we will soon see an agreed Action Plan, after which we will commence the necessary work for visa liberalization. This process is progressing quite swiftly, more so than in several other nations," Mirzoyan remarked.

Armenia-EU Visa Liberalization Dialogue

The dialogue regarding visa liberalization between Armenia and the EU was officially initiated in September 2024. In August of this year, the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the efforts towards visa liberalization with the European Union were actively underway.

Since the start of the year, several EU expert missions have visited Armenia to prepare reports, which will serve as the basis for the European Commission to formulate an Action Plan.

The objective of these visits is to conduct a thorough evaluation of Armenia's readiness in areas such as document security, border management, and migration, thereby aiding in the development of a visa liberalization action plan.-0-
