Armenia and NATO discuss areas of cooperation
YEREVAN, October 4. /ARKA/. On October 3, a delegation led by Lieutenant General Janusz Adamczak, NATO Director General of the International Military Staff that arrived in Armenia on a working visit, held bilateral meetings with Lieutenant General Edvard Asryan, First Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia, who is also Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and Levon Avazyan, Head of the Main Department of Defense Policy and International Cooperation of Armenian Defense Ministry.
During the meetings a wide range of issues were discussed, in particular, the current state of Armenia-NATO cooperation and potential opportunities for its development. The most urgent directions of cooperation were defined.
The Armenian side presented the ongoing reforms in the Armenian Armed Forces. In addition, regional security issues were touched upon, and the sides exchanged views on international military-political developments. -0-
