Armenia’s acting FM to head to Belgium

The European Commission has transferred €34 million to Armenia to mitigate the impact of Russian trade restrictions on the country's private sector, the EU Delegation to Armenia reported.

Starting November 1, 2026, as a result of amendments to the Law "On Foreigners," all services provided in the process of obtaining residency status in Armenia will be digitalized, the Migration and Citizenship Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commented on the possibility of expanding trade and economic ties with Turkey, as well as the prospects for the continued operation of the Margara checkpoint, which was temporarily opened for the transit of humanitarian aid to Lebanon.

Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia party and president of the Tashir Group holding, announced the consolidation of opposition forces and the formation of a post-election coalition.

On Wednesday, the Central Election Commission of Armenia granted the Prosecutor General's Office's petition to strip the immunity of Robert Kocharyan, the leader of the Armenia bloc and second President of Armenia, and initiate criminal proceedings, the former president's lawyer, Aram Orbelyan, told reporters after the conclusion of the Central Election Commission's session.

The EU is preparing emergency trade relief for Armenia to help offset Russian import restrictions, as Brussels and Moscow compete for influence over the future of the Caucasian republic.
