Armenian communist party leader resigns

The leader of the Communist Party of Armenia, Ruben Tovmasyan, has resigned, a senior member of the party, Boris Gyurjyan said today.
YEREVAN, November 14. / ARKA /. The leader of the Communist Party of Armenia, Ruben Tovmasyan, has resigned, a senior member of the party, Boris Gyurjyan said today.
He decline media allegations that Torosyan’s resignation was forced by health problems. According to him, on November 23 the party's gathering will elect a new leader. Before that second secretary Tachat Sargsyan will be acting chairman of the party.
The 76 year-old Ruben Tovmsyan led the Communist Party of Armenia since 2003. -0-
