YEREVAN, March 5. /ARKA/. Armenian Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan visited Paruyr Hayrikyan, National Self-Determination Party leader and ex-candidate in the recent presidential election, in International Red Cross’ hospital Gloria where the latter is being treated after he was shot in the shoulder on January 31 and underwent surgery in Grikor Lusavorich hospital.
In recent days, Hayrikyan posted on his page in Fecebook that his state had worsened and he wanted some treatment.
Doctors told the minister that Hayrikyan feels far better now than before the treatment.
The police and the National Security Service have launched their investigation into the incident. The gunman, if tracked down, will be charged with an attempted assassination of a political and public activist with intention to stop his activities.
On February 9, the National Security Service’s press office reported that two suspects were arrested, and one day later it became known that the very revolver from which Hayrikyan had been shot was found with one of the suspects. --0---
