Armenian premier congratulates Trump on US Independence Day

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has congratulated U.S. President Donald Trump and the U.S. people on the Independence Day wishing them peace, further progress and welfare, the Armenian government’s press office reports.

YEREVAN, July 4. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has congratulated U.S. President Donald Trump and the U.S. people on the Independence Day wishing them peace, further progress and welfare, the Armenian government’s press office reports. 

In his message, Pashinyan stressed that the declaration of the United States’ independence had a great influence on further developments in the world’s history and came as inspiration source for many nations seeking freedom and independence. 

He said he is proud of the Armenian community’s special contribution to the United States’ development and prosperity and its role as an important bridge connecting these two nations.  

Nikol Pashinyan said that unprecedented changes has taken place in Armenia over one year – democracy has been established in the country, freedom of speech restrictions have been removed, a new government has been formed through just and transparent elections, and this government is taking crucial steps to establish the rule of law and strengthen democracy achievements.

The premier said that today the justice system reformation and the struggle against corruption are the government’s top-priority objectives. 

He highly appreciated the financial and technical assistance the United States has provided to Armenia and thanked the country for that. 

Pashinyan said that this assistant has always been very important to Armenia, and today it will allow implementing democratic reforms smoothly and quickly.  

He pointed out with pleasure the recently held first session of Armenia-US Strategic Dialogue saying it has proven the progress in relations between the two countries that are based on common values.

”Armenia is interested in improvement of these relations and development of bilateral cooperation in various areas.”

The Armenian premier also stressed the great importance of the part the United States plays in the Karabakh conflict’s peaceful settlement as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country. 

“I hope it will be possible to reach the absolutely peaceful settlement by joint efforts and by using only peaceful means for the benefit of regional stability and security,” he said. -0---
