Armenian president to attend new pope enthronement ceremony

Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan will travel tomorrow to Vatican to attend the ceremony of enthronement of the newly elected Pope Francis, Sargsyan’s press service reported.
YEREVAN, March 18. / ARKA/. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan will travel tomorrow to Vatican to attend the ceremony of enthronement of the newly elected Pope Francis, Sargsyan’s press service reported.
The head of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Catholicos Karekin II, will also head a delegation that will travel to Rome to attend the ceremony of enthronement.
The enthronement of Francis will be attended by heads of many states. It is scheduled for 9:30 am local time on March 19.
The new head of the Roman Catholic Church is a native of Argentina. The 76 year-old Cardinal, Archbishop of Buenos Aires Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected the 266th Pope last Wednesday by the conclave. -0-
