YEREVAN, June 7. /ARKA/. Central Election Commission Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan presented the current status of voting in the regular National Assembly elections.

"All polling stations opened at 7:00 a.m. and began accepting voters at 8:00 a.m. As of 8:00 a.m., absent members were recorded at 48 of the 2,005 polling stations, with a total of 50 absentees. Only three absentees included two commission chairpersons and one secretary," Hovakimyan told reporters on Sunday.

Noting that the election process is proceeding normally, he added that some technical issues were identified and are being resolved as quickly as possible.

About the elections

On June 7 at 8:00 local time, the regular elections to the National Assembly of the 9th convocation began in Armenia. There are 2,005 polling stations in the country. Voting will end at 20:00.

According to the Central Election Commission, 2,505,102 people are included in the voter registry of Armenia.
