YEREVAN, September 16. /ARKA/. The director of Armenia's National Security Service (NSS) Artur Vanetsyan has resigned today.
In a Facebook post Vanetsyan described his decision to quit 'in the current situation and in the context of the future' as the most desirable and reasonable option to serve Armenia and his people. Vanetsyan also described the decision 'as confident as his decision to assume the post at the crucial moment for the country in 2018 May.'
According to Vanetsyan, his 18-month tenure was open, and each step was in tune with one principle - the homeland and the honor of the career officer above all.
“State building has its own logic: spontaneity of decisions, unreasonable actions, inability to distinguish important from secondary, and transitional from permanent - a similar work style is not the way that will lead to the realization of goals. This has nothing to do with officer's dignity, with esprit de corps. Let my resignation be a sobering step; in all other cases, the duty to the homeland will prevail. Peace and security to our country,” Vanetsyan wrote. -0-
